MEREDITH ARTLEY President & CEO of Hawai’i Public Radio Forward, Together: Hawai'i Public Radio, 100% Community Supported Meredith is the President and CEO of Hawaiʻi Public Radio, a community-backed public service that informs the people of Hawai’i with essential news, inspires through the power of music and the arts, and connects through conversations. She leads the team that serves the people of Hawaiʻi via HPR-1 and HPR-2, the only broadcast radio network that spans the state, plus an expanding portfolio of digital offerings, and a range of community events and gatherings. After federal funding to public media was rescinded in July of 2025, HPR became for the first time in its history 100% community supported. Backed by a record-breaking number of supporters, HPR is moving forward with strength in its first full year without federal money as a model of independent local media. In addition to working with the team and community to successfully navigate the loss of federal funding, hallmarks of Meredith’s leadership at HPR include new local programming and podcasts, popular newsletters like the Akamai Recap and the HPR Social Club, and the “Live From the Atherton” events series featuring local musicians and authors. And, this past year the stations of HPR became the most listened to across the islands, and HawaiiPublicRadio.org was voted best news site in Hawaiʻi. Meredith has a track record of leading prominent organizations through successful digital transformations, and of building and directing high-performing teams around the world. As the former Editor in Chief and SVP of CNN Digital, Meredith led CNN to become the #1 brand for news on the internet. She ran a team of hundreds of journalists, grew audiences to more than 20 million users a day, managed a $100+ million budget, and advanced CNN’s shift to a multi-platform news organization. After 12+ years at CNN, she moved to Hawaiʻi in 2022 with her family. Soon after, she served as the Interim Executive Director and Executive in Residence of the Doris Duke Foundation’s Shangri La Museum. Meredith has also built and led digital teams at The Los Angeles Times, the Paris-based International Herald Tribune, and The New York Times. She is a former president of the board for the Online News Association, a former member of the Aspen Institute’s Knight Commission on Trust, Media and Democracy, and of Harvard’s Shorenstein Center Commission on Misinformation. She was a fellow of the Sulzberger Executive Leadership program at Columbia University, and delivered the commencement address for her alma mater, the University Missouri School of Journalism. Meredith has delivered keynote talks around the world, been honored with the ONA Founder’s award and led teams that have won Pulitzers, Emmys, Peabodys and Webby awards. Her home base is in Waimea on Hawaiʻi Island, with her husband Naka Nathaniel and teenage son Kai.

HAWAII FI-DO SERVICE DOGS
Their Mission: "Hawaii Fi-Do Service Dogs helps to build independence and quality of life for children and adults with mobility disabilities in Hawaii by providing them with quality trained assistance dogs by sharing awareness of service dogs to the community." Founded in 1998, Hawaiʻi Fi-Do Service Dogs believes the right dog can change everything. For more than 25 years, this Hawaiʻi-based nonprofit has trained and placed service dogs with individuals who have physical disabilities, restoring independence, confidence, and dignity through the bond between people and dogs. Each dog is carefully selected, raised by volunteer puppy raisers, and professionally trained to perform essential tasks such as mobility support, item retrieval, balance assistance, and anxiety interruption. These dogs don’t just help, they give their partners independence. That impact is deeply personal for Hawaiʻi Fi-Do Board President Dara Fukuhara. Living with a severe mobility disability, Dara first supported the organization in the early 2000s through her public relations and marketing work. As her health declined, her role deepened. She joined the board, raised one of Hawaiʻi Fi-Do’s breeder dogs, and eventually faced the need for a service dog herself. Twenty years later, the right match arrived: QT. After two years of training, QT graduated, giving Dara daily security, practical support, and peace of mind. QT now assists with tasks Dara can no longer manage and is learning how to get help in an emergency. Beyond service dog placements, Hawaiʻi Fi-Do’s therapy and outreach programs bring comfort to children affected by trauma, seniors in care homes, and students in local schools, touching hundreds of lives across Hawaiʻi each year. Committed to access and equity, Hawaiʻi Fi-Do removes financial barriers so life-changing support reaches those who need it most. With the help of donors and volunteers, the organization continues building a more compassionate Hawaiʻi, one service dog at a time. For more information, visit www.hawaiifido.org or follow Hawaiʻi Fi-Do on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. MIKI HARDISTY
CEO, Co-founder and Architects of OEQ at Ōlelo Intelligence
AI
Miki Hardisty is the CEO, Co-founder, and Architect of OEQ at Ōlelo Intelligence, a Waimanalo-based company building the revenue recovery operating system and infrastructure for service and trade businesses, using voice AI as the primary data channel. She didn't just found the company — she built the product. Miki personally architected and developed Ōlelo's proprietary OEQ (Ōlelo Engagement Quality) AI engine, a multi-dimensional scoring system anchored by behavioral taxonomy and a structured coaching lesson library. She is the first named inventor on the company's provisional USPTO patent (63/945,257, 28 claims filed).
Her path to AI founder is one of the more unusual in the industry. Miki began her career in nuclear reactor design and computational fluid dynamics before moving into enterprise technology leadership. At Dell, she led global enterprise architecture, data governance, and big data strategy. At LPL Financial, she launched the company's first data science team and drove early adoption of machine learning in financial services. As Global Corporate CTO at Jack in the Box, she modernized the company's data architecture and built one of the industry's first conversational AI systems for franchise drive-throughs — years before the current AI wave. At ProService Hawaiʻi, she served as both CTO and COO, and was a key technical strategist on the deal team that secured a major investment partnership with Silver Lake. After ProService, she founded Ōlelo Intelligence in Hawaiʻi. Miki is a Pacific Business News 2021 Business Leader of the Year, named to Hawaii Business Magazine's 20 for the Next 20 (2023), and the 2026 Hawaii Venture Capital Association Tech Entrepreneur of the Year. She speaks on AI architecture, franchise technology, and what it means to be a hands-on technical founder. Arrive at 11:30 am for fellowship and socializing prior to our 12:00 pm meeting start!
