CALL TO ACTION
Each year our Club has assisted with Rick Tabor leading the charge to decorate and then remove the decor. He is busy this year, however Scouting America has reached out to us to assist with the cleaning on May 27. If you are able to assist, please reach out to Billy Rayl (information below), and let me know so you get your volunteer credits. Mahalo, Lee
Aloha,
On behalf of Scouting America, Aloha Council, I’m reaching out to invite the various rotary clubs on Oahu to support a meaningful community service opportunity following Memorial Day.
On Tuesday, May 27, we will be holding the Flag and Lei Pickup at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl, starting at 8:00 AM and continuing until approximately 12:00 PM or until all flags and leis have been respectfully collected. The time may vary depending on the number of volunteers.
This effort follows the Memorial Day tribute, where Scouts and volunteers honor every grave with a flag and lei. We now ask for the community’s help in carefully gathering those tributes in a dignified and respectful way.
We would be grateful for your support and welcome as many Rotarians as are able to join us. If your club is available to participate or help share this opportunity, please feel free to reach out or let us know.
Mahalo for your continued service to our community.
